Tejas Soddy

CS @ Wilfrid Laurier

I'm a Computer Science student at Laurier in Waterloo. I build full-stack apps and the pipelines that ship them: tested, containerized, and deployed. Lately that means React and TypeScript up front, Node and Postgres behind, and GitHub Actions pushing it all to AWS. Open to SWE and DevOps internships.

Stackd

A paper-trading app where students learn to invest with $10,000 of practice money. A seeded market engine generates five years of price history per asset, so every chart is identical on every visit, and the performance chart is rebuilt by replaying the transaction log.

Mitra

A map-based web app that breaks the ice between university students by showing nearby people with shared interests, plotted live from browser geolocation.

my part The Express and SQL Server backend for profiles and coordinates, with parameterized queries on every request to block SQL injection.

OMEN

Paste a YouTube link to a Punjabi song and get the lyrics back line by line: Romanized Punjabi over an English translation. Messy titles are cleaned, matched against Genius with fuzzy scoring, and translated with a strict prompt so the output is stable run to run.

HawkMaps

A Laurier campus app with an interactive map, live study-space availability, club events, and an AI assistant, all behind a Laurier-email login.

my part GoldenHawk, the AI assistant: an LLM backend with an on-device fallback that grounds answers in campus data and finds the fastest indoor route with Dijkstra's algorithm, so chat keeps working offline.

  • React Native
  • Expo
  • TypeScript
  • FastAPI

HarvestAI

Recommends a nitrate fertilizer mix for a specific field by combining soil-sensor readings, government soil data, and regional climate.

my part The GeoPandas and Shapely parser that matches a location to its Canada Land Inventory soil polygon, and the DeepSeek integration that turns that soil context into the recommendation.

  • Python
  • GeoPandas

  • DeepSeek
